Forgotten Recipes of the Smokies

 I was so excited to write another article for Okra Magazine! I have been working on a project at work called Forgotten Recipes of the Smokies, where I am researching recipes that tie back to The Old Mill and the Great Smoky Mountains. I’ve gone back over 200 years to find recipes, and in this article, I feature a recipe by Malinda Russell. Her story is fascinating to me and I think you will be intrigued too. Okra requested the article for their Hidden South issue.
